Former NBA star Shawn Kemp was sentenced Friday to 30 days of electronic home monitoring after firing shots at two men inside a vehicle in a Washington state mall parking lot.

According to The Seattle Times, Kemp must begin his monitoring within two weeks. In addition, he was ordered to serve one year under state Department of Corrections supervision and complete 240 hours of community service.

Prosecutors had pushed for a tougher penalty — nine months in jail, a year of supervision, and restitution — but the judge opted for a lighter sentence.
