Former Russian deputy prime minister criticises war in Ukraine

A former Russian deputy prime minister has criticised the war in the Ukraine. “Wars are the worst things one might face in life …, including this war,” Arkady Dvorkovich told Mother Jones in an interview. Mr Dvorkovich, who served as a deputy prime minister from 2012 to 2018, following a stint as the top Kremlin economic adviser to then-President Dmitry Medvedev, said he remains living in Russia where he is “safe with my family and friends”.

Three EU country leaders take train to Kyiv in show of support for Ukraine

The prime ministers of the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovenia were travelling to Kyiv by train on Tuesday to show support for the country on behalf of the EU, the first foreign leaders to visit the Ukrainian capital since Russia invaded last month. Kyiv has been under Russian attacks: two powerful explosions rocked the capital before dawn on Tuesday. Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Facebook the trip took place on the 20th day of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Putin’s “criminal aggression against Ukraine”.
