Sep. 18—The David Tautofi era has ended at Kaimuki. In a press release from the coach’s Kaimuki Youth Development Organization, Tautofi stated that he was released as head football coach on Aug. 31 by school administrators. Kyle Larson won at Bristol Motor Speedway — not really a big surprise or even the most interesting part of NASCAR’s first playoff elimination race. The post-race feud between reigning Cup Series champion Chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick stole the show Saturday night, especially when Harvick angrily told the energized crowd: “I’m ready to freakin’ rip somebody’s head off.” The fickle crowd struggled to pick a side before settling firmly behind Elliott, NASCAR’s most popular driver.

Curt Casali’s 2-run single holds up, Giants beat Braves 2-0

Alex Wood just wanted to find a nice rhythm again in his return from a bout with coronavirus, to continue working toward feeling at full strength come playoff time. Curt Casali hit a two-run single in the fourth that held up, Wood made an impressive three-inning comeback from COVID-19, and the San Francisco Giants beat the Atlanta Braves 2-0 on Saturday night. Wood struck out four and didn’t walk a batter or allow a hit over three scoreless innings, throwing 37 pitches in his first start for San Francisco since Aug. 26 as he makes his return from a bout with COVID-19.
