A woman was shot and killed Wednesday during a large federal immigration operation in south Minneapolis.

DHS claims the ICE agent acted in self-defense, but witnesses and local officials dispute the account, saying the victim was a legal observer.

Protests erupted soon after, with Mayor Jacob Frey calling for ICE to leave the city.
